FAQs

  • How long is a session?

Standard sessions are 60 and 90 minutes, giving you plenty of time for multiple rounds of sauna, ice baths, and rest.

  • What should I bring?

    - Swimwear (mandatory)

    - Two towels – one to sit on in the sauna, one to dry off

    - Flip flops or sliders

    - A water bottle (we have refill stations)

We provide drinking water, herbal tea, and bodywash/shampoo for post-session showers.

  • What’s included in my visit?

Access to our sauna, ice baths, outdoor showers, lounge, and relaxation areas. You’ll also get a quick orientation on how to sauna safely.

  • Are all sessions mixed gender?

Most sessions are mixed gender unless stated otherwise. We also run weekly gender-specific sessions for those who might be more comfortable in a same-gender space.

  • What’s the sauna etiquette?

    - Sit on your towel at all times.

    - Keep voices low inside the sauna.

    - No shaving, exfoliating, or personal grooming in the showers

    - Be mindful of scent - please don’t bring any oils or strong perfumes.

    - Mobile phones are not allowed inside the sauna or ice bath areas.

    - Smoking or vaping is not permitted anywhere, except for outside the building.

  • Can I pour water on the sauna stones?

Yes - but be mindful of how much water you pour over as too much can cool the hearer significantly, or break it. Our Harvia Virta Pro heater is powerful, and the host will manage the steam (“löyly”) to keep it safe and enjoyable.

  • Can I use the sauna if I’m pregnant or have a health condition?tem

Please consult your GP before booking. Sauna and ice baths are not suitable for everyone.

  • What if I feel unwell during my visit?

Exit the sauna immediately, rest in the lounge, and let a member of staff know.

  • Is alcohol allowed?

No - alcohol, drugs, and intoxicated guests are strictly prohibited. You may be refused entry without a refund.

  • Do you have showers?

Yes we have three outdoor showers (hot and cold). Please shower before you ice get in to the ice baths after a sauna session - this helps keep the water clean for everyone.

  • Is there parking or bike storage?

There’s no on-site parking. Limited on-street parking is available nearby. Please lock bikes securely outside the arch; we are not responsible for theft.

  • Is the venue accessible?

Our entrance is step-free and the lounge is wheelchair accessible, but our changing cubicles, sauna and outdoor area have some narrow pathways. Please contact us in advance to discuss your needs.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

For communal sauna sessions, you can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your session for a full credit. No refunds or credits are given for cancellations under 24 hours. For private sessions, we operate a 72 hour cancellation policy.

  • Can I bring a group?

Absolutely – for groups of 8+ you can either book sauna seats, or privately hire the entire space. If you have specific needs or ideas you can email us to discuss at info@urbanheatwellness.com.
